Software Pricing Partners Principals

The Software Pricing Partners team consists of a small group of senior managers who have worked closely together often for many years. We oversee and do the work. Areas requiring specialized skills, such as competitive analysis or market research we use trusted affiliates with whom we have worked before.

Our objective is to serve our clients as cost effectively as possible.


The Executive Management Team

Jim Geisman View Jim Geisman's LinkedIn profile is founder and principal of Software Pricing Partners, Inc. where he provides senior management counsel and marketing and sales consulting services. He has led consulting engagements for a broad range of clients addressing fundamental issues affecting business success.

Before founding Software Pricing Partners, he held marketing management positions at Tektronix and served as the first director of marketing at Apollo Computer. He was also a member of the ARPANET team at Bolt Beranek and Newman where he performed throughput testing of the forerunner of the Internet.

Mr. Geisman received his BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University where he was elected to Eta Kappa Nu, the EE honor society. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. A former consulting editor of Software Success Newsletter, he is widely published and considered an expert in software pricing strategy and sales negotiations. He is a sought after speaker for computer trade and industry association meetings.

John Maruskin is a principal of Software Pricing Partners, Inc. where he provides senior management counsel in business and marketing strategy. His perspective is strategic, concentrating on the development of price structures and packaging that facilitate the quantification of product value, and helping clients strike an effective balance between pricing precision and simplicity. His focus is customer research, positioning, and the development of comprehensive marketing and sales programs.

Mr. Maruskin has been involved in building businesses and brands for more than 25 years. He began his career at Leo Burnett and Ogilvy & Mather where he worked with nationally-known clients including Procter & Gamble, Armour Dial, and McDonalds. He went on to found M & D Communications Engineering, a marketing consultancy, to bring the experience and discipline of these world-class consumer marketers to his B2B clients, many with high-technology products and services. He later founded emanem partners, a consulting firm providing clients across a broad range of industries with strategic direction, thought leadership, and implementation follow-through on matters of general business as well as marketing.

Mr. Maruskin received his BS in Aeronautical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and his MS in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
